GFWAust provided microfine cement grouting behind the sheetpiles around service protrusions to enable basement excavation in the waterlogged sands.
Capella apartments in Kensington comprises 164 designer apartments over nine levels in two low-rise developments plus retail space and basement parking.
The basement construction was sheet piling into the Botany Sands. With a high natural ground water level around the site, the site was dewatered to enable basement excavation. However majot sewer pipes crossed the site at a high level and gaps were required in the sheet piles to allow the sewers to pass through. GFWA provided grouting expertise with microfine grouting in the dense sands to seal the gaps in the sheetpiling around and below the sewer pipes to enable the excavation to take place.
