GFWAust were appointed to excavate a trench in hard basalt adjacent to a new prefabricated concrete warehouse

Independant Cement built a large 3200sqm warehouse at Kemblar Grange but needed a 2m deep, 2m wide trench adjacent to the building to install drainage pipes. GFWAust were appointed to excavate the trench whilst the pre-fabricated concrete panels for the warehouse were being erected.

GFWAust used PCF “non-explosive blasting” technique to excavte the trench in the hard basalt rock. The blasting was carried out only a few metres away from the building that was being errected.
