GFWAust carried out microfine grouting behind a sheet piled retaining wall to protect service penetrations
Capella Kensington is an unparalleled residential development that will inject a new standard of quality and design into Kensington transforming the old Doncaster shopping centre into 164 apartments.
Designed by one of Australia's most celebrated architects Richard Francis-Jones, Capella is at the heart of Kensington situated on Doncaster Avenue and Anzac Parade and within minutes of Sydney's best parks, golf courses, beaches and the University of NSW.
Capella comprises 164 designer apartments over nine levels in two low-rise developments plus retail space and basement parking.
The basement construction was sheet piling into the Botany Sands. With a high natural ground water level around the site, the site was dewatered to enable basement excavation. GFWAust provided grouting expertise with microfine grouting in the dense sands to seal the gaps in the sheetpiling due to service connections.
